Race Rules and Classes
- Each rider is responsible for the actions of their family and pit crew, any detrimental action by these individuals puts the rider at risk of disqualification.
- Riders and/or family and pit crew who direct foul and abusive language to any official are subject to disqualification for the entire event.
- For safety, all race personnel, officials, rider’s, mechanics, photographers and anyone associated with the rider’s must not consume or be under the influence of intoxicants or drugs that could affect their normal mental or physical ability during the event. Failure to comply may result in disqualification of the rider.
- No rider under the legal age of 18 may compete without the written consent (signature on liability releases and entry forms) of the rider’s parents or legal guardians present at the event.
- Parent or guardian MUST be present at sign-up.
- The rider must be able to control their motorcycle at all times, and to ride it safely. This includes stopping, starting, standing still, mounting, dismounting, and putting one or both feet on the ground. The referee has the authority to disqualify a rider who can’t safely control their motorcycle.
**The club recognizes that under some circumstances a rider of legal age to ride a classification of motorcycle [i.e. moving up a class] may require assistance at the starting line. Under approval by referee that rider will be allowed to utilize a starting block and be placed either on very inside starting position on front row, or be placed on back row at the very inside starting position.
No parent or guardian will be allowed at the starting line during a race start for safety considerations. Once successful start has been accomplished the starter will signal the parent or guardian to remove the starting block from the racing surface and the parent/guardian will remain inside the race track near the starting line until completion of the race. - The minimum age for competition is no younger than 4. The referee or designated race official may ask for any rider’s proof of age. Proof of age must be available at all events, or the rider may be subject to disqualification. Acceptable proof of age is considered to be: Birth Certificate, Driver’s License, Passport, or State-Issued ID Card.
- Multiple racers may use the same machine on the same day, provided that the machine is not entered more than once in any class, and that the machine and rider meet the requirements of each class. A racer may use the same machine in multiple classes, provided that the machine and rider meet the requirements of each class.
- A rider must actually start an event to be considered a participant.
- A rider’s age on Jan.1 will determine their age for remainder of the year. No youth rider shall ride as more than one age during any meet. (For example, a rider is either 11 years old or 12 years old during the event.
- If a racer is not ready when called to the starting line area, the racer or designee may request a two-minute delay.
– If the racer does not request a delay, the meet referee may start the event without that racer.
– If the racer requests the delay but is not ready at the completion of the delay, the meet referee may start the event without that racer. - The club will start 6 riders per row, maximum of 3 rows for total of 18 riders per race. Any deviation will require approval of referee and/or race officials.
- Racers starting position will be determined by posted line up for all heat races starting from the inside pole. A racer will get to pick their starting position for all semi’s and main events based off their finishing position in the respective heat races. In the event of multiple heat races for a class, semi and main starting positions will be awarded by alternating between finishing positions in heat races with winner of first heat race getting first pick of starting position.
- Should a race be stopped but not completed, riders must return their motorcycle to the designated work area only to make repairs. Any rider or motorcycle returning to the pit area will be disqualified.
- If a race was stopped because riders went down, the first rider down is placed last in the restart, etc., with the last rider down behind the last rider who didn’t fall. If for any reason a rider doesn’t complete the red-flagged lap, they too will be placed in the rear of the restart in a position respective of their stoppage. If the race is called complete the riders will be scored in the position in which they would have restarted.
- If red flag occurs after completion of first lap a staggered restart will be utilized.
- For safety, no parent or guardian will be allowed on the track during competition until cleared to do so by race officials. No exceptions. Violation of this will result in disqualification and will be asked to leave the premises.
- All motorcycles will have clearly visible number plates on front and both sides of the machine. In the event the machine number does not match the entry of the rider, the rider/crew is responsible to report the change to a race official prior to start of the race. If not reported they will not be scored in the event.
- Wearing of Helmets: It is mandatory for all participants taking part in practice and races to wear a helmet with chin strap buckled. The referee and/or any club race official may remove a participant from event should they deem appropriate protective equipment is not worn.
– All youth riders, under age 16, are required to wear a helmet any time they are operating a motorcycle or scooter on the premises. - No unlicensed motorcycles or scooters are allowed off the premises. Club officials reserve the right to disqualify anyone caught in violation will be asked to leave the premises.
- Flags: Green=race start, Yellow=caution, competitors must ride cautiously until they have passed the incident that caused the flag. No stoppage of racing, Black=disqualification, rider must report to referee, Blue=rider about to be overtaken by faster riders, hold your line and do not impede progress, Red=stoppage of race, emergency situation, White=one lap remaining in race, Checkered=end of race
- Racers are encouraged to have their crewmember/mechanic readily available prior to the race start should assistance be required. Should assistance be required they will depart the racing surface prior to starter starting the race.
- For safety, operation of vehicles will be limited to walking speed only in the pit areas. Anyone caught in violation will be asked to leave the premises.
- Knobby tires prohibited on flat track/TT racing surfaces.
- Motorcycle front brakes must be either removed or disabled for flat track events. A front brake is not required but encouraged for TT events.
- Any Rider passing on the inside is responsible for any foul that results.
a. If passing on the outside, a rider shall not move to the inside unless there is adequate space to complete the pass without interfering with the passed rider.
b. The penalty for interfering with another rider during a pass may be disqualification. - No riding or practicing any bike during a race event that you did not sign up to race on.
- Mandatory riders meeting will be held prior to practice. Participants names will be drawn at random. If your name is called and you are not at the riders meeting, you will start the heat race on the penalty line.
- Race Classes:
***MINIMUM OF 5 RIDERS TO MAKE A CLASS – CLUB MAY COMBINE CLASSES ON TRACK BUT THE CLASSES WILL BE SCORED SEPERATELY- Y50JR – riders 4 to 6 years old
- Y50SR – riders 7 to 8 years old
- Y65 – riders 7 to 11 years old [open to 50cc / 65cc bikes]
- riders must ride the bike appropriate for their age
- Y85 – riders 9 to 15 years old [open to 65cc / 85cc bikes]
- riders must ride the bike appropriate for their age
- SCHOOLBOY – riders 9 to 15 years old [85cc 2 stroke / 75cc-150cc 4 stroke / 125cc 2 stroke]
- rider must be 12-15 years old to ride 125cc in schoolboy class
- A250 – riders 12 and older [2 or 4 stroke 250cc bikes permitted]
- rider must be 12 years old to race 250cc bike
- A450 – riders 14 and older [450cc 4 stroke or 250cc 2 or 4 stroke permitted]
- rider must be 14 years old to race 450cc bike
- AOPEN – riders 12 and older [250cc bikes and up]
- riders must ride bike appropriate for their age, twin cylinder bikes allowed rider must be at least 18 years old or older
- JUNIOR MADDOG – riders 9-29 years old [100-200cc 4 stroke air cooled bikes] – (NO CURRENT LICENSED PRO RIDERS ALLOWED)
- SENIOR MADDOG – riders 30 years old and over [100-200cc 4 stroke air cooled bikes] – (NO CURRENT LICENSED PRO RIDERS ALLOWED)
- SENIOR CLASSES [any bike with exception of no brakeless bikes allowed]
- 30+ – riders 30 years old and older
- 40+ – riders 40 years old and older
- 50+ – riders 50 years old and older
- 60+ – riders 60 years old and older
- BRAKELESS – riders 16 years old and older [PRE ‘79 no brakes]. Only permitted to enter 1 brakeless class per rider. Both classes will always run together but will be scored separately.
- LIGHT WEIGHT BRAKELESS – bikes up to 399cc
- HEAVY WEIGHT VINTAGE – bikes over 400cc
- SPEEDWAY – riders 16 years old and older [no brakes]
- VINTAGE CLASSES – no water-cooled bikes permitted, all bikes must be equipped with rear brake
- LIGHT WEIGHT VINTAGE – riders 16 years old and older bikes up to 360cc, bikes must be over 30 years old
- HEAVY WEIGHT VINTAGE – riders 16 years old and older bikes over 361cc, twin or single cylinder allowed, bikes must be over 30 years old
- PRO AM – riders 12 years old and older 250cc-Open bikes
- riders must ride bike appropriate for their age per previously listed classes- rider must be 18 years old or older to ride a twin cylinder bike
- Jr ATV – riders 4 to 14 years old [0-250 4 strk / 0-200 2 strk]
- Lt Wt ATV – riders 15 years old and over [251-400cc 4 strk / 201-345cc 2 strk]
- Hy Wt ATV – riders 15 years old and over [405cc & up 4 strk / 348cc & up 2 strk]
- Points:
- Riders are eligible to receive series points towards year-end awards in all recognized classes except the Pro-am class.
- Rider must participate in a minimum of 3 events to quality for year-end awards.
- If at the end of the series a tie exists, the winner will be determined by:
A. The rider who has the most first place, second place, third place, etc., finishes will be the winner.
B. If the tie still exists, the rider who participated in most events will be the winner.- Points will be awarded as follows:
